A Network for Cybermanufacturing in Machining

The goal of this effort is to bring about change in cyber-physical systems in machine tools, using both applied physics and advanced computer science concepts to identify research areas. In order to proceed with the goal, we propose to organize and hold an annual road-mapping workshop, facilitated by the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM).

Within this effort, the aim is to maintain a balance of participants from Computer Science, Manufacturing, Industry and Academia. The overall objectives of this initiative are to create and organize a community including those from Academia and Industry, to create strategies for transformative research and to further industry revitalization.
