Scholarship Opportunities

The Engineering Academic Pathways (EAP) S-STEM Scholarship supports high-achieving students with financial need who are pursuing degrees in the College of Engineering at UNC Charlotte. The program provides renewable scholarships along with mentoring, advising and professional development opportunities designed to help students succeed in engineering.

Financial Support
Receive scholarships of up to $10,000 per year to help support your engineering education.
Mentoring & Advising
Work closely with faculty mentors and advisors who support your academic progress.

Access tutoring, specialized advising and structured academic support.

Participate in retreats, research opportunities, conference travel and job-search preparation.

Eligibility Requirements

Incoming Freshman Eligibility
  • Must be an incoming freshman
  • Enrolled full-time in the College of Engineering
  • Must demonstrate financial need through FAFSA
  • Eligible for a Federal Pell Grant
  • Must have unmet financial need exceeding $5,000
Academic Preparation

Students should demonstrate strong math preparation, including:

  • Completion of at least pre-calculus in high school
  • Ability to enroll in calculus during the first semester
  • Grade of C or better in high school math courses
Eligible Engineering Majors

Students must be pursuing a major within the College of Engineering, including programs such as:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Industrial & Systems Engineering
  • Engineering Technology programs
  • Construction Management

Step 1: Apply for admission to UNC Charlotte.

Step 3: Finalists may be invited for a brief interview with the selection committee.

  • Priority Deadline

  • Application Deadline
    • April 1

Applications may continue to be reviewed on a rolling basis if funding remains available.

Program Expectations

Scholarship Renewal

Scholarships may be renewed annually as long as students:

  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • Continue in an engineering major
  • Participate in program activities

Maximum support: up to $40,000 total.

Academic Standing
  • GPA below 3.0 → probation period
  • GPA below 2.75 → loss of eligibility until GPA improves
