Research

Research in the Albert School of Construction advances the full lifecycle of the built environment through scientific discovery, applied innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and industry and community engagement. Our work connects construction, engineering, technology, management, safety, infrastructure, sustainability and digital transformation to address real-world challenges facing industry and communities.

Faculty and students collaborate with industry partners to develop practical solutions for the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, safety, renewal of buildings, infrastructure, and workforce training. Key themes include digital and AI-enabled construction, construction safety and risk management, sustainable and resilient built environments, building performance, infrastructure asset management, project delivery, workforce education and emerging technologies for the future of construction.
