The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering takes great pride in the outstanding accomplishments of our students. - Serves as the Vice President of the Graduate and Professional Student Government (2024–Present).
Nita Khanal
- UNC Charlotte Graduate Outstanding TA award finalist (April 2025).
- First-place poster presentation winner in the Engineering track at the Graduate Research Symposium-2024, UNC Charlotte.
- Selected as one of seven Graduate Life Fellows (GLF) for the 2023-2024 from the Center for Graduate Life and Learning (CGLL), UNC Charlotte.

- 1st Place for oral presentation at GPSG Graduate Research Symposium (GRS 2025), UNC Charlotte.Title: Light-Activated Silver Nanoparticles To Eliminate Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria.
- 1st Place for poster presentation at Sixth Annual Graduate Research Symposium 2025, CEE, UNC Charlotte, Title: Enhanced Antibacterial Activity of Light-Activated Nanoparticles Against Superbugs Through Sequential Light Exposure.
Chideraa Ndubuisi
- 2nd Place in student poster competition at North Carolina Water Resources Research Institute conference in March in Raleigh
