Walk-in tutoring sessions held throughout the week. Show up during published hours and work with available tutors on a first-come, first-served basis
Tutoring
Free tutoring is available through both the Office of Student Development and Success (OSDS) and the University Center for Academic Excellence (UCAE) to support your success in key first-year and core engineering courses.
Peer tutors are experienced upper-level students who have successfully completed the courses you’re taking. They can help you strengthen your understanding of difficult concepts, work through problem sets and prepare for exams.
Tutoring is offered in a variety of formats, including drop-in sessions, scheduled appointments and small group study sessions.
Courses Supported
Tutoring is typically offered for:
- Calculus
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Introductory engineering courses
- Other common first-year requirements
Availability varies by semester based on tutor schedules. Check the current tutoring schedule for up-to-date course coverage and hours.
If tutoring is not available for your course, ask about additional support options such as supplemental instruction or peer-assisted learning programs.
How to Make the Most of Tutoring
- Come prepared with specific questions or problem areas
- Bring your textbook, notes, and course materials
- Work through practice problems during your session
- Focus on understanding concepts, not just completing assignments
- Start early in the semester (don’t wait until exams)
- Attend regularly for the best results
Tutors are here to help you understand the material and build skills, they will guide you through problems, but will not complete assignments for you.
