Support for students transitioning into the William States Lee College of Engineering

Transfer students work with Office of Student Development and Success transition coaches during your first semester to help you adjust to UNC Charlotte, understand degree requirements and navigate the engineering program. Transition coaching connects you with peer mentors who’ve successfully transferred into engineering and can help you figure out campus resources, course planning and what to expect in upper-level coursework. After your first semester, you transition to your department’s advising team.

Figuring out how many semesters you have left and what you need to take each term to graduate on time

Transitioning to Department Advising

After your first semester as a transfer student, you transition from OSDS to your department’s advising team. Your department advisor will manage your academic plan going forward, but you can still access OSDS resources and peer support programs. If you’re transferring into engineering from another UNC Charlotte college, you may move to departmental advising immediately depending on your major declaration status.
