Tutoring
Free, course-specific tutoring is available for your first-year classes and is highly encouraged. Support is offered in math, science, computer programming and technical writing to help you stay on track and build confidence in your coursework. Additional tutoring resources are available through the University Center for Academic Excellence (UCAE), the Math Learning Center and the Physics Resource Center. You can also find up-to-date tutoring schedules posted outside the Hawthorn lounges.
Design Challenge: Skateboard Stand
Students were asked to innovate a skateboard stand because skateboards represent a tripping hazard in classrooms. We received a number of excellent submissions! The winners designed a lightweight, foldable 3D printed stand that is small enough to be held in a backpack, but robust enough to hold an electric skateboard. The winners were awarded a 3D printer! The design is shown in the image below.

Creativity Lab
The Engineering FLC Creativity Lab is located in Smith 260 and features 3D printers, a laser cutter, workspace, and a variety of small tools and robotics equipment. Plus, a lab TA is always there to help you learn how to use everything safely. Keep an eye out for upcoming hands-on projects and opportunities to show off your work!
